ISO 17024 is the standard setting the principles and requirements for a body certifying persons against specific requirements, including the development and maintenance of a certification scheme for persons.
This is the international standard that EFCoCert follows and complies with for developing competence certification schemes as partner in the framework of Erasmus+ KA2 projects.
The current ISO 17024 version has been published in 2012. A periodic review conducted by ISO at the end of 2022 concluded that the standard now should be revised and updated.
Dr Didier BLANC, EFCoCert Foundation President, who already participated in drafting the 2012 version, has now been appointed as international expert in the reactivated CASCO WG 30 in charge of the revision.
This will allow EFCoCert to
- a. share the essential experience gained through developing competence certification schemes within Erasmus+ projects, (in particular regarding remote approaches and innovative replacement of examiners by an open badge informal recognition ecosystem), and
- b. anticipate, thanks insider information, alignment with the future applicable ISO 17024 requirements for ongoing and future Erasmus+ projects.

… and do not hesitate to book a call with me for discussing about adding value by integrating a competence certification scheme within an Erasmus+ KA2 project idea you would have.
Looking forward to meeting you soon!
