EFCoCert (European Foundation for Competence Certification) developed a unique and highly innovative approach for ISO 17024 compliant competence certification by involving the candidates people “ecosystem” for recognising the competence demonstrated by achieving intended results.
This unique innovative expertise is widely used and adding value in the framework of EU funded Erasmus+ projects, in which EFCoCert is involved for developing the certification work package at 2 levels:
- certification of the acquired knowledge (“I Know” level), and
- certification of the subsequently demonstrated competence (“I’m Able” level).
With the support of Blended Training Solutions, Portuguese partner specialised in microlearning pedagogical approaches, EFCoCert developed a course explaining the applied competence certification approach. This course has been developed in the framework of the ongoing Erasmus+ Digital Wine Tasting project.

It is oriented towards the specific context of the related project (i.e. digital wine tasting), but the approach is easily transposable in any other competence acquisition context.
